Echo Park water main break disrupts service and traffic

Video by Patrick McElroy

A broken water line flooded an intersection near Echo Park Lake last night and left some residents across Echo Park and Angeleno Heights with no water for a few hours.  The water line near Glendale Boulevard and Park Avenue burst about 11 p.m.  directly in front of  a new apartment complex.  Patrick McElroy took the video above showing water covering several lanes of Glendale Boulevard.

Still no word from the LADWP as to what caused the line to break and how many customers may have been affected. But a resident in Angeleno Heights said his family was without water for at least two hours. He said a DWP employee blamed the disruption on a water line break near Park Avenue.
