Found: Sweet dog hiding in Highland Park carport

Submitted by B. Bedard

I found this beautiful boy hiding from the rain in my carport on Sunday, 12/2/12. He is incredibly sweet and affectionate and is always trying to play with my dog. If this is your dog please, contact  bridget@bridgetbedard.com

  1. I feel people in highland park need to start thinking about whether or not they are able to care for the animals they get. I see dogs running loose all the time and the people who keep dropping their dogs off at the Hermon dog park when they don’t want them anymore…it’s really sad

  2. Did you check for a microchip?

  3. Did you take the dog to the pound, that is the first place I would look if I lost my dog. Owners also post lost dog signs at the pound, you can look through them and post a found sign. You can get first dibs on the dog if he is not claimed also animal control will scan for a chip.

  4. The most disturbing thing about living in HP was the number of stray cats and dogs I always saw roaming my street! I hope his owner is looking for him and that this is not another case of “disposable pet ownership”. Sorry to be on a soapbox, but the very awesome Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (which does NOT euthanize the many, many animals they foster), just opened an LA headquarters and is looking for volunteers to man their prospective adopter hotline, post ads on C-list for adoptable animals, and other easy stuff during the month of December. You can get more info at http://www.ThePropertyShopLA.com or email me at elise@thepropertyshopla.com. Glad there are so many animal lovers out there and that this cute boy has a warm home tonight!

  5. Aussie’s are the greatest dogs! I hope his owner finds him!

  6. He looks like a happy soul. If you find he is indeed homeless let me know and I will consider making him a part of our family.

  7. Please consider taking this sweet doggie to the Pasadena Humane Society… they can check for microchip. And bless you for taking him in! I also live in HP and have been able to rescue 2 dogs that were strays.
