A sign of the past recalls East L.A.’s First Street Store

While the murals on the front of the former First Street Store have attracted public attention,  some classic commercial signage on the back of the old East Los Angeles department store has also attracted notice. “Pretty cool,” said Miguel Hernandez, who took the photo of the “You Save More” sign, which was revealed during construction. Hernandez said he hopes the old sign is incorporated into the charter school that is taking over the property.
