A Glassell Park resident named Lisa wants to find out what happened early Tuesday morning when police officers on the ground assisted by an LAPD chopper overhead spent about two hours near Carlye Street and Carlyle Place. “Many police vehicles, officers on foot, and a constantly circling helicopter were on the scene for at least two hours,” she writes in an email. Officer Perry Scheerer, who supports the Northeast Division’s Facebook Page, has an answer:
Apparently, Hollenbeck officers pursued a stolen car into Northeast last night. The driver fled from the vehicle, but a perimeter was set up and canine unit brought out to search. The suspect was found and arrested for GTA without further incident.
Good thing we have people like Lisa looking out for things. Hooray for Lisa!
