Fire guts Echo Park bungalow

No injuries were reported after an early-morning fire gutted an Echo Park house at the corner of Scott and Lake Shore avenues.  Three people were inside the one-story bungalow when the fire was reported shortly before 2 a.m., according to ABC7. The fire was believed to have started inside the home, which was built in 1919, but a cause has not been determined.

  3. If they need money to help fix their home back to its original charm, Im all in for a donation of some sort. thats what a community should do right in times like this? to help each other out when disasters strike everyone should pull together, and let them know they live in a great community that loos out for each outher.

    • (For the record, the “James” who wrote the above comment isn’t the same “James” who usually comments on the Eastsider – yours truly. I know this sounds snotty, but if there are spelling errors in the post, I probably didn’t write it. That said, I’m sorry to hear this happened and I hope the homeowners/inhabitants are all okay and have decent fire insurance.)

      • Erudite James – with such a common name you seriously need to consider updating or clarifying your moniker. It’s super simple.

      • well thanks for clarifying that big ol mess snotty james, since you feel the need like anyone cares which james wrote what, except you I guess…Get over your self dood ditto on what epgirl wrote.

    • Tienes insurance?

      • No one cares about you snotty James! No one cares about the illiterate James either! Change your name then for Christ sake! (it took everything to not write that in all caps!)

This is horrible. Such a shame to see a vintage building go to such utter waste.

  8. What a shame! They did a really nice job of fixing up those two bungalows a few years ago; I hope the insurance money will allow them to restore or rebuild.
