Glassellland sign makes a comeback*

The mysterious Glassellland sign, which popped up on a Glassell Park hillside near Forest Lawn last month before being removed a few days later,  is back and now looms over a different part of the neighborhood. Christian Nahas said he first noticed the new sign early Monday night on a hill near Kinney Street, about a half mile away from where a Glassellland sign first popped up above Fletcher Drive. It’s not clear if someone built a new sign or just moved the old letters to a new and more prominent location. “Let’s hope it sticks around,” Nahas said.

* Update: The Glasssellland sign builders might need to make some repairs. The letters “N” and “D” looked as if they had fallen down early this evening, reports one reader who spotted the sign while driving on the 2 Freeway.

  1. The letters of this new Glassellland sign appears to be about twice as tall as the original letters of the sign on Verdugo last month.

I love it, I hope it sticks around a long time.
