Original art. Live jazz. Dance performances. Food trucks. Lessons on Zero Waste.  The list of of events and attractions is a long one for this Saturday’s upcoming Echo Park Art Walk, when scores of shops and spaces along Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue will host displays  of art and craft,  performances and fundraisers. If that’s not enough to get you in the door, many shop owners are also offering special one-day deals and discounts. Click here for a list of venues and events.

  1. Last year, gang members tagged the hell out of Echo Park Ave. the Friday night before Artwalk. Seemed like there was more of that than the art. If anyone is ever going to set up an operation to catch them or at least be in a position to provide photographic evidence that could lead to arrests, I’d be willing to bet Friday night would be the time to do it.

  2. Some gang members have been known to have the most artistic talents, maybe they can redirect some of this for you, De Carlos…Nice try with your hispanic name! Makes one wonder is this an art show or a calling of the all the happy people.

  3. It’s all about neighborhood pride and trying to develop open dialogs with the neighbors . Stop, smile, nod and say hello. Respect and recognize.
