Beer. Wine. Food.  Looks like the first-ever Atwater Village Beer, Wine & Food Festival has all the basic ingredients to draw a crowd on Sunday to the intersection of Glendale and Glenfeliz boulevards.  The festival, spearheaded by Atwater wine shop and pub owner Andy Hasroun, will feature brews from more than a dozen breweries, including Atwater’s own Golden Road, as well as live music and food trucks.

In another first-ever event, the L.A. River Bike & Walk will present a Saturday afternoon and evening of outdoor activities, including a community fair, bike-powered art and a bike-in movie (Beetlejuice) in Elysian Valley.

With the city runoff elections less than a month away, voters in Council District 1 might want to make time Saturday morning to hear candidates Gill Cedillo and Jose Gardea address the issues during a Council District 1 Candidate Debate & Forum.

Other events this weekend include  Brewery Artwalk at the the Brewery Arts Complex in Lincoln Heights holds it spring; the monthly DIY Marketplace and Music Fair  at La Tierra de la Culebra Art Park in Highland Park, and the Hermon Dog Park’s April Yappy Hour for pets and their companions.
