Police today arrested a man suspected of attempting to break into an Angeleno Heights home earlier this month after a resident recognized him from a surveillance video that was posted on The Eastsider and other websites.
The 36-year-old man was arrested in front his home in the 1100 block of Sunvue Place, said Detective Mario Mota with the Rampart Division. “The suspect, a male Hispanic, 36 years of age, and living in the area for 25 years, identified himself from the video and still images,” said Mota via email.
Mota and another officer made the arrest about two hours after they received an anonymous tip from a resident who was certain that the man in the video lived in the 1100 block of Sunvue Place. The officers went to the location and observed the male depicted in the video hanging out in front of his residence. He was arrested without incident.
The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and on an outstanding burglary warrant, Mota said His bail is set at $110,000.
