Around The Eastsider:

Echo Park Lake unwrapped

Workers on Thursday began removing a  section of the green construction screen that has blocked the view of Echo Park Lake for the past two years as the park prepares to reopen on Saturday.  The removal of the screen near the corner of Echo Park and Park avenues revealed a vista of of the lake, bridge and golf-course green lawns that have been obscured since the lake was closed off, drained and cleaned up. Expect that chain link fence to come down soon.

A public grand opening ceremony featuring Mayor-elect Eric Garcetti  is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 at the intersection of Logan Street and Park Avenue.
