Teatro Arroyo debuts in Highland Park

Teatro Arroyo presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream/Martha Benedict

A  fledgling theater company – Teatro Arroyo – staged its first show on Sunday amid the trees and arroyo stones at  La Culebra Art Park in Highland Park.  After performances of live poetry and music, the Teatro Arroyo, which is composed of Highland Park residents, presented part of A Midsummer  Night’s Dream outdoors in the park and, later, indoors at the Twinkle Toes Dance Studio. Martha Benedict was there to photograph the performance on the first day of fall.

Teatro Arroyo, according to its website, is working to produce other performances and festivals as well as forming a professional theater company and cultural arts center “that will draw on the rich and diverse creative communities within North East Los Angeles.”
