DWP crews are working to restore power to 11,000 customers this morning after rain and wind-related outages were reported across the city.  El Sereno topped the list of neighborhoods with most problems, with 3,500 customers without service, according to the L.A. Department of Water & Power.  An additional 600 customers in Lincoln Heights were also without power.

The showers have been pretty light but it’s the first significant rainfall of the season. “It is common for rain and wind storms, particularly the first significant storm of the season, to cause some temporary power outages as dried palm fronds, tree branches and other debris fall and make contact with power lines,”  according to a DWP announcement.
