Echo Park celebrates the holidays with marching bands, bacon-wrapped hot dogs and Santa

Hollywood High band puts on a show at Echo Park Avenue and Sunset Boulevard

Blue skies and warm weather greeted the drill teams, marching bands, classic cars and other entries that traveled down Sunset Boulevard today during the Echo Park Community Parade. The aroma of bacon-wrapped hot dogs drifted in the air as spectators, many sporting Santa caps and other holiday gear, cheered on the family members and friends who appeared in the parade. There were politicians and  Zumba dancers as well as an entry protesting the Echo Park gang injunction.

Santa arrived at the end of the parade in a black Mustang convertible, which is probably more comfortable and speedy than a horse-drawn sleigh.

  1. Really a horse drawn sleigh? Is that a typo or what? I thought it was supposed to be reindeer!

  2. Nice picture round up! Fun times at the parade today, beautiful community day in EP overall.

  3. What a festive day!
