Waking up in a fog

Fogbound landscape in Echo Park

This morning’s thick fog – or a light mist, depending where you were – was another reason for many people to sleep in. For others it created an opportunity to capture images of a landscape softened in different shades of gray.

Fog over Silver Lake rooftops.
A misty walk along the Arroyo Seco.

The sun was barely visible when Sandy Driscoll of Silver Lake took this photo.

Standing under my grapefruit tree this morning, I had just a glimpse of the sun through the beautiful thick fog. Everything looked as though it was shot in black and white. Quite beautiful!
