LAFD responds to collision in Elysian Park

A traffic collision this morning in the 2000 block of Stadium Way in Elysian Park left one person temporarily trapped in the wreckage. The collision took place before 7 a.m. but fire and paramedic vehicles were seen leaving the area by about 7:30 a.m., according to Mary-Austin Klein, who observed the aftermath of the crash from a nearby hill.  The collision temporarily blocked – or at least partially blocked –  Stadium Way when it’s usually clogged with morning commuters. No word yet about injuries.

  1. I just drove by the wreckage, the minivan is literally crushed on one side, doors cut off. There was no sign of another car involved. The driver must have sustained substantial injuries. Eastsider, please update any new info as it becomes available.

  2. I hope that everyone involved in the accident is ok. Note that if the Barlow Hospital Development Project gets approved there will be tons of accidents in this same area. If you travel or live near Elysian Park please be informed of what is going on. http://www.saveelysianpark.org

  3. I passed by this morning and saw this, looked like a lady was still inside and they cut the door off to get to her… I also did not see any other vehicle involved. Really wonder what happened to cause this Jurassic Park-ish damage…
