Bomb scare shuts down 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock*

ABC7 and other media are reporting that the westbound 134 Freeway has been shut down down tonight through Eagle Rock after a bomb squad was called in to inspect a suspicious package near the 134 and 2 freeway interchange.  The westbound lanes are closed at Figueroa Street.

Video from a Caltrans camera displayed via Trafficland at one point appeared to show a bomb squad robot crossing lanes near the 134 and 2 freeways. Click here to view the live video feed.

* Update @ 9:03 pm: ABC7 reports that the westbound 134 Freeway has reopened without incident.  The bomb scare took place after two suspicious men were spotted nearby at the Caltrans Regional Transportation Management Center, according to KTLA.

  1. Thank you for posting this ! I was dining at a Burger King near the freeway and was wondering why there were three(3) helicopters hoovering above. My husband and I after dining got onto the East freeway and noticed the backup as well as the streets prior to getting on the freeway jam packed with car more than usual. I told him probably a bad accident where traffic flow was diverted off the freeway. Good to hear it wasn’t an accident but the traffic that was backed up on the 210 and people who got off packing the streets were insane.
