The students at Elysian Heights Elementary got a lesson in the care of cows on Monday morning after a dairy industry trade group trucked in a cow and a calf  as part of what’s called a Mobile Dairy Classroom. The dairy association “brought a cow (‘Lola’) and calf (‘Rocky’) to show the students at Elysian Heights Elementary School,” said Echo Park resident Susan Borden via email.  “The kids got a talk about cows [and] a demonstration of milking.”

  1. This is great! Brings back memories of my grade school days. We need more of these type of events in all of LAUSD. Keep kids interested in school by treating them to something new once a month. I know it worked for us in the 60′s :)
