Friday night quake shakes up the Eastside

A magnitude 5.1 quake centered near La Habra tonight was felt across the Eastside, from East L.A. to Echo Park. There are no early reports of any major damage, and a pre-season game at Dodger Stadium continued as normal after the earthquake hit at 9:09 p.m. LADWP says that water and power systems are “reporting as ok,” and Metro  found no damage to its rail lines. City fire crews are inspecting neighborhoods for potential damage after the second significant quake to strike the L.A. basin in two weeks, with seismologists saying there is a 5% chance that tonight’s temblor is a foreshock of an even larger quake.
