SILVER LAKE –  Two years after it was created, Sunset Triangle Plaza – aka Polka Dot Plaza – is getting cleaned up and apparently repainted.  Patrick Pascal of Los Feliz snapped photos on Thursday after workers had closed off the area and were prepping and patching the pavement of the pedestrian plaza, which has become dingy and scuffed up since it was painted  with a field of 43-inch wide, Grape Green dots on a background of Lemon Grass green  paint . Will the colors remain the same? Stay tuned.

  1. Would be nice if they put down a new layer of material so that it wasn’t just the cracked street below the paint. I doubt that’ll happen this go-round, but the usage of this space will only increase as people see it more and more like a public plaza and less and less like a street just cordoned off on a temporary basis.

    • It would stay nicer if the farmers market people didn’t park their cars on it too. Should be a no-tire zone…

    • Better yet, remove a lot of the asphalt and expand the grassy area. Maybe keep some hard materials in areas where stalls are set up for the farmers market, and so bicycles can continue to get through, but allow more permeability to the water table, and more plant life.
