Broken pipeline floods Atwater with 10,000 gallons of crude oil

ATWATER VILLAGE — An early morning pipeline rupture has spilled more than 10,000 gallons of crude oil in an industrial section of north Atwater Village.  L.A. Now reports the oil is about knee-high in some spots near the 5100 block of San Fernando Road near a strip club.  The spill, which began at about 1 a.m.,  has prompted street closures and forced several businesses to close, according to various news reports.
