Stolen Land Rover prompts police pursuit through Silver Lake

SILVER LAKE — Two suspects are in custody and one remains at large following the police pursuit of a stolen Land Rover through the streets of Silver Lake on Thursday night. Lt. Wes Buhrmester of the Rampart Division provided details via email:

A pursuit of a stolen Land Rover began at 8:50 pm, at Temple St. & Alvarado St. The suspect got onto the Hollywood Freeway northbound for a bit, then exited at Silver Lake Blvd., making his way to Marathon St. eastbound. At the end of Marathon St. at Merwin St., he had a minor collision with a parked car, then he and one passenger got out and ran. One passenger stayed, and was taken into custody. One passenger ran south, while the driver ran eastbound up the stairs, and made his way to Coronado Terrace.

By this time, the air unit was overhead, and was able to maintain visual contact until units arrived for a containment. In the 1000 block of Coronado Terrace, the driver was arrested without incident. One passenger remains outstanding, and one is in custody.
