ECHO PARK — A DASH bus crashed into a tree near Echo Park Avenue and Avalon Street early tonight, according to Michael Marquesen, who snapped the photo above. The bus was empty when it hit the tree, and police on the scene said there were no injuries, Marquesen said. How did this happen? The Eastsider will be checking with the city’s Department of Transportation to get details.

  1. Wow, the city will do anything to get rid of a Ficus!

  2. “… police on the scene said there were no injuries… ”

Umm, that tree looks injured to me…

  3. So what did LADOT say? Is it safe to ride the DASH? Or did The Eastsider get some bureaucratic response like: “We don’t comment on personnel matters.”?
