  • Modernist architect John Lautner’s Silvertop house in Silver Lake has gone up for sale at an asking price of $7.5 million, reports Curbed L.A.  It’s the first time the nearly 5,000-square-foot home with large expanses of glass and an arched concrete roof has been on the market in 40 years.
  • Firefighters returned twice in two days to put out  fires in the same Boyle Heights home on Tremont Street, reports the Daily News.  A woman was seriously burned during the first fire in the kitchen; the second blaze broke out in the attic.
  • The owner of Village Bakery & Cafe is looking for the woman who has been poaching plants from the front of the Atwater business, reports CBS2.  The woman, who was caught on a surveillance video as she grabbed the plants and tossed them into a shopping cart,  struck  after cafe owner  Barbara Monderine spent $1,000 on landscaping.
