As the year winds down, so too do the meetings. Expect more of the same as December progresses. On this week’s agenda we have a Congressman landing in Highland Park for some coffee, and Atwater Village is concerned about a small lot development.
Before You Go: It’s a good idea to check with organizations to find out if meeting items and times have been changed or postponed.
- The Atwater Village Neighborhood Council would like to raise community awareness of a proposed, 60-home small-lot development on Chevy Chase and Verdant (adjacent to North Atwater Park). Wednesday, December 3.
- Grab a cup of coffee with Congressman Xavier Bacerra on Saturday, December 6 at Buchanan Elementary School. The town hall meeting is a chance for concerned citizens to see Becerra field questions and roll up his sleeves. A health care information session will immediately follow the coffee jam.
- Here is an application for a beer and wine permit from representatives of The Park restaurant at 1400 West Sunset Boulevard. The applicant also want to extend their business hours to 12 midnight daily, and they’ll have to request an additional action as hours of operation are not permitted at a commercial corner establishment in a mini-shopping center. Thursday, December 4.
- Councilmember Jose Huizar is requesting funds to be allocated for tree trimming in Council District 14. It looks like he’s made the motion that $40,000 from the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station trust fund be appropriated, along with naming a landscaper to get the job done. Trees! Tuesday, December 2.
