Police investigating possible Highland Park shooting [updated]

HIGHLAND PARK – Police are advising residents to avoid the area near Avenue 50 and the Arroyo Seco Parkway as they investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that took place at about 1 p.m.  Police are asking CHP to see if they have received reports of motorists being fired upon on the southbound lanes of parkway, according to LAPD scanner.

Update @ 3:30 p.m.:  Police could not find evidence of a shooting after looking for bullet casings on both sides of the freeway and detaining some suspects, according to Sgt. Armis at the Northeast Division station. One of those suspects, however, was booked on an outstanding warrant, he said.

  1. If more white people would just buy more $700k, 100 year old shacks in Highland Park, this would all be better. Just think how good life will be when York and Fig are lined with Vegetarian, Gluten Free Muffin Shops.

  2. Crime hasn’t been this bad since the 90s, it’s gonna be another long war stay inside people

  3. cheaper properties for more hipsters. but thugs never could see long term.

  4. So…anyone find it interesting that basically, this is a fake story. It never happened. Someone called the cops and reported an incident, a spine-tingling tale of someone shooting at people on the 110 in Highland Park and yet an investigation showed…nothing. No shell casings, no injured or dead motorists. Just…a scary story about Highland Park again. Hmmm….

  5. like people say deal with change….well deal with gang violence it’s always been here so deal with it

  6. Looks like that’s working crime is up in hlp 11 shootings one unsolved homicide of a African American gentrification cleans up hoods
