BOYLE HEIGHTS — Several streets in Boyle Heights were flooded after a late-afternoon storm cell moved through the area.
Twitter users posted photos of flooding on First and Fourth street at about 5 p.m. CBS reported that water reached the headlights of some vehicles while a video showed water covering the street and sidewalk on First Street near the 5 Freeway. The LAFD said that flooding was reported in the 500 block of S. Bernal Avenue.
The National Weather Service said that radar showed the heavy rains had begun to diminish by 5:30 p.m. But an urban and small stream flood advisory remained in effect until 7:30 p.m.
