What’s with those squares of grass around the Silver Lake Reservoir?

SILVER LAKE — Squares of grass and some QR codes have popped around the Silver Lake Reservoir. Dan Gershon snapped a photo of one of the three grassy squares he saw today.  Looks like another baffling Silver Lake art project, but what does this one mean? Let us know what you find out after scanning those codes.

Update:  Gershon said one of the codes gives a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: “A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” The others provide an ad for a spa in Colorado. Go figure.

  1. You guys post a picture of the QR codes and ask your readers to figure out what it does when you scan them? As a reader, I was hoping you guys would be the ones doing the research, not me.

    • I have to say, you do have a point! Reminds me of one of those stories on a “clickbait” news site: “You won’t believe what happens when this baby encounters a cheetah! Please, please watch this video, it will reaffirm your belief in humanity!” We love our advertisers.

  2. Such a silverlake move. Ooh, I’m laying down a patch of grass and taping off a what looks like a door to the reservoir so people can envision what it would be like if it was a natural public space….ooh, ahh….

  3. this is not art, just trash getting in the way. someone should remove these. at least one of them juts out into the (poorly lit) path and it seems like a hazard.

  4. Oh, I thought that the grass was for my cat to poop on.
