Man shot in Boyle Heights park

BOYLE HEIGHTS — A man is in critical condition after being shot early this morning at Hollenbeck Park.

The victim, a 30-year-old Latino, was in the Boyle Heights park at 4:15 a.m. when a suspect fired several rounds, said Lilliana Preciado with LAPD’s media relations. The victim was transported to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The police could not provide any information on the suspect. It is unknown if the shooting was gang related, Preciado said.
