There were some growing signs that L.A home buyers were becoming a bit more selective in May, with home sales essentially flat compared to the same month last year, according to Redfin’s monthly review of sales activity. The pace of Eastside home sales was also relatively small (up 2.4%) in May, but there were some standouts, including Eagle Rock (up 27.4%), Highland Park (up 16.1%) and Glassell Park (up 12.2%).
Prices, meanwhile, continued to climb. The median price for all homes sold across the Eastside in May rose 11.8% from the same month last year to $648,000, according to Redfin.
Eagle Rock was an Eastside hot spot in May, with the median sales price rising 17% to $791,000. The typical home sold in only 20 days and above asking price.
