What should go inside the Highland Park Time Capsule?

HIGHLAND PARK ––   A bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos? A yoga mat? That $68 parking ticket you got on Figueroa?  It’s not clear if any of these items would be suitable for the Highland Park Time Capsule, which will be opened in 25 years.  But if you got any ideas,  now is the time to make them before the capsule is filled and sealed.

The Highland Park Neighborhood Council and Council District 14, which are sponsoring the time capsule, said submissions can range from building materials and flyers to photographs and  digital media.  “Submissions should be memorable, meaningful, and represent something really special about Highland Park,”  according to post on the council’s Facebook page.

A time capsule ceremony is scheduled for June 25 at the Highland Park Senior Center.  Those with items to be considered should contact Monica Alcaraz at monica.alcaraz@highlandparknc.com.
