ECHO PARK — What’s happening to the buildings that once housed the punk venue Pehrspace and TiGeorge’s Haitian restaurant? One of the buildings in the 300 block of Glendale Boulevard has a broker sign on a wall saying “Echo Park Village” is coming soon. The new owners are renovating the one-story buildings, exposing brick walls and opening up interiors.
However, Ted Hirsch with SouthPark Group, the brokerage listed on the Echo Park Village sign, has not yet responded to questions about the future of the block — nor said whether other tenants would be leaving.
The two buildings on this triangular-shaped property have long been home to numerous small businesses and restaurants. It sold back in May for $3.4 million, according to Property Shark.
This comes on the heels of an earlier round businesses closures in Echo Park earlier this year near Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street, where several buildings and storefronts are being renovated into an upscale shopping and restaurant complex.
