Silver Lake Intelligentsia Coffee customers drink up – in the parking lot

Silver Lake Intelligentsia closed for remodeling

Storefront ReportSILVER LAKE —  The crowd of coffee drinkers that is usually gathered outside Intelligentsia  on Sunset Boulevard has been missing for the past week since the Sunset Junction coffee house closed for renovations.  But for those customers who can’t wait until the store reopens, they can satisfy their Intelligentsia fix by walking around the corner to where free coffee is being served from a parking lot kiosk.

The free coffee is available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. but has been running out early, according to one person at the kiosk.

When will the store, which debuted nearly a decade ago, reopen?  No exact date has been given but company postings on Twitter mention the work to “re-energize” the store will take a few weeks to complete. Until then, see you in the parking lot.
