Elysian Valley couple missing after heading for desert camping trip

ELYSIAN VALLEYPolice say a man and a woman from Elysian Valley have been reported missing after not returning from a weekend desert camping trip.

Mariya Mitkova, 27, and Aaron Morganstein, 33, were last seen leaving their home in the 2200 block of Shoredale Avenue, apparently headed to Joshua Tree National Park or the Imperial Sand Dunes. The couple frequently go camping.

Both were expected back at their jobs Monday, but neither showed up for work, according to a Go Fund Me page. The page also says their last known purchase was at a gas station in Cabazon, Calif.
