New housing proposed for York Boulevard

Site of housing and commercial development

HIGHLAND PARK — York Boulevard has attracted plenty of new shops, bars and restaurants. Now it might get some new housing as well. A developer is proposing to build a 22-unit residential and commercial project on York Boulevard near Nolden Street.

Lofts on York LLC has filed an application with the Planning Department to building a 24,000-square foot mixed use project on what is now a restaurant site. The owners are seeking to build a project that is bigger and taller – about 40 feet-higher  – than currently allowed because they will be including two residential units set aside for low-income tenants.
