Blue Bottle Coffee joining Los Feliz cafe scene

Storefront ReportLOS FELIZ — Looks like Blue Bottle Coffee is preparing to start serving its high-end brew on Hillhurst Avenue, according to city records.

The Bay Area coffee chain has filed for a city business license at 2066 Hillhurst, a ground-floor space in an Art-Deco style building located between Puran’s restaurant and Lassens market. The city’s Building & Safety Department has issued permits to convert the former children’s and baby clothing store into an approximately 1,000-square-foot “sit down coffee shop” with a rear patio.  It is to be open from 7 am to 7 pm.

The gourmet coffee company, which operates sleek and airy coffee houses in Echo Park, Downtown LA and Venice, has been expanding across the country after raising more than $70 million from investors last year.

The Eastsider has contacted a representative of Blue Bottle for more details.
