GLASSELL PARK — A downed tree has blocked Division Street along the 3500 block this morning, and L.A. Department of Water and Power workers will likely have to shut down power nearby temporarily, according to police officials.
The tree was large enough to cross Division Street from one sidewalk to the other, according to a spokesman for the LAPD’s Northeast Division. Though the fallen tree broke power lines, no one appears to have lost power. However, power will have to be shut off before workers can cut up and remove the tree.
The DWP has not released any further details so far.
Update: The LADWP outage page says that Customers Affected: 592 customers in Glassell Park are without power this afternoon. Full service is expected to be restored by 2:30 am.
