  • The county coroner identified the body found Friday in La Canada-Flintridge as that of 40-year-old Travis Joel Peterson, a Los Feliz resident and video music producer who went missing on Dec. 30. Peterson’s body was found in a vehicle parked on Foothill Boulevard. The cause of death remains under investigation but a spokeswoman for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said there were no signs that a crime has been committed. ABC 7
  • Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez has proposed renaming a two-mile section of the 110 Freeway, also known as the Arroyo Seco Parkway, in honor of retired Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully, who had an Echo Park street named after him last year.  Gomez, who is running for Congress, is on a freeway-naming kick: he recently co-sponsored a measure to name a section of the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock in honor of President Barack Obama. Daily News
  • Firefighters pulled a man out of standing water in the L.A. River on Sunday afternoon near Cypress Park and Elysian Valley. The 30-year-old man was taken to a hospital for evaluation. L.A. Daily News
