Reward offered in East L.A. killing; 2 injured in Lincoln Heights crash; City Council to vote on $60 million L.A. River land purchase

• A $15,000 reward is being offered in connection with the August 2014 shooting death of Andrew Ruben Fierro in East Los Angeles. The 31-year-old man was waiting for his wife and children while parked in the 200 block of North Arizona Avenue when he was fired upon by a person in a passing vehicle. LASD

• Two people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a sidewalk homeless encampment in the 100 block of Avenue 19 in Lincoln Heights. LoudLab News/YouTube

• The City Council is scheduled to vote today on spending $60 million to buy approximately 44 acres of  railroad property near Cypress Park as part of efforts to restore the L.A. River. The total cost of buying and cleaning up environmental hazards on the site could cost more than $250 million.
