Lincoln Heights coffee scene perks up

LINCOLN HEIGHTS —  The neighborhood’s coffee scene has been pretty low key. Cafe in the Heights closed about two years ago, and Cafe Zeta did not last very long. But now the team behind The Heights Deli and Bottle Shop has stepped in to fill the neighborhood’s coffee house gap with a new place called B Twentyfour.

The new coffee house – named after its location at the corner of North Broadway and Avenue 24  – opened Friday in a high-ceilinged space formerly occupied by Cafe Zeta.

B Twentyfour is pouring coffee from three specialty roasters – Ritual Coffee Roasters, Intelligentsia, and 49 th Parallel – as well as  loose leaf teas from Art of Tea. In addition to coffee drinks and teas, the cafe will serve paninis, salads and pastries “that are simple in design yet complex in flavor.”

B Twentyfour, which is located at 2223 N Broadway, will be open daily from 7 am to 5 pm.

  1. Stopped by today, it was very good! Coffee was good (don’t have to go to Figueroa anymore for an actually good cup of coffee poured by a small business, I can stay in my neighborhood now!) and the bagel was really good. Hope this place sticks around like The Heights has done – good to have businesses run by people from our hood!

  2. The red box was on Thomas hill not flat top
