Soap opera star selling Glassell Park home for $815k; homeless can pay tickets with community service; more inspections for problem apartments

  • The City Council voted in favor of allowing homeless persons  to pay parking tickets through community service instead of paying a fine.  Persons who qualify will be able to pay up to 10 tickets a year by performing community service. CBS2
  • “Blighted or low-quality” apartment building will be inspected more frequently by the city’s Housing and Community Development Department. The inspection for problem properties will take place every two years instead of four to monitor compliance. KPCC
  • Actress Katherine Kelly Lang — aka Brooke Logan of  The Bold and the Beautiful soap opera — has put her Glassell Park home on the market for $815,000. That’s $175,000 more than what she paid for three years ago. L.A. Times
