  • A Los Feliz apartment building near Los Feliz Boulevard and Vermont Avenue was evacuated Tuesday night as police searched for an Orange County murder suspect. But the search was called off after several hours without anyone being taken into custody. CBS2 & L.A. Times
  • Jimmy Gomez was sworn in as representative of California’s  34th Congressional District during a ceremony in Washington D.C. The Eagle Rock resident had been criticized for taking longer than usual to officially take office after winning the June 6 runoff election. Gomez, who resigned his state assembly seat to run for Congress, replaces Xavier Becerra, who was appointed State Attorney General earlier this year. L.A. Times
