Mount Washington craft fair showcases local artisans and supports neighborhood school

MOUNT WASHINGTONMt. Washington Made, a craft fair and fundraiser organized by Mt. Washington Elementary PTA, returns this Saturday, Sept. 23, featuring the work of local artists, designers, and shops.

Held on the tree-shaded campus at the top of Mount Washington, the craft fair will contribute a percentage of the proceeds goes to support school programming. Products and pieces range from jewelry, ceramics, textiles, paper goods, housewares, art, clothing, and more.

The annual maker marketplace takes place Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9am to 1pm at Mount Washington Elementary, 3981 San Rafael Avenue.

Sparks Take Over The El Rey

Musical mavericks Sparks – Californian brothers Ron and Russell Mael – have returned. Described as “the smartest, most consistently evolving band in the history of rock” and internationally acclaimed as pop pioneers, Sparks’ music has always been innovative and instantly identifiable. Sparks will play a special event, 3-day series at the El Rey Theatre starting Oct. 14.
