School Board Member: There is more trouble for Ref Rodriguez, the L.A. school board member and charter school advocate who represents several Eastside neighborhoods. The charter school company he once headed has filed a conflict of interest complaint over $285,000 in payments that Rodriguez had approved for a nonprofit he controlled. Officials say they have no records to show how that money was spent. The complaint comes a few weeks after Rodriguez stepped down as school board president (but kept his board seat) when he was charged with campaign money laundering charges. L.A. Times
