Break-in costs El Sereno cafe $15,000; Boyle Heights students learn about healthy eating from new school garden; car flips over in East L.A. crash

Burglary: The owners of Antigua Bread in El Sereno suffered an estimated $15,000 loss when burglars broke into the cafe in the 5900 block of Huntington Drive over the weekend and stole cash registers and a safe. Surveillance video shows the burglars ransacking the cafe.  Antigua Bread also operates a cafe in Highland Park.  FoxLA

Health: Students at Hollenbeck Middle School in Boyle Heights will learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits while tending a Teaching Garden donated by the Keck Medicine of USC. The garden is part of an American Heart Association program to fight obesity. The medical school plans to fund another Teaching Garden in East L.A. next year. USC News

CRASH: A crash this morning left a car overturned at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Mednik avenues in East Los Angeles, CBS2 traffic reporter Stephanie Simon said on Twitter. No further details were provided.
