“White Masked Bandit” suspect apprehended after Northeast L.A. robbery spree; City Council approves pot regulations; unclaimed dead burial in Boyle Heights

Suspect Arrested: An armed suspect who wore a facial mask during  six armed robberies in Eagle Rock and Highland Park last month has been apprehended.  35-year-old Sean Thomas King, who police had dubbed the White Masked Bandit, was taken into custody on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the East Los Angeles Probation Office.  King, who faces robbery charges, was booked into jail and bail was set $1.125 milion. Pot Regs: The City Council unanimously approved  regulations for the sale, growing and distribution of  recreational marijuana starting Jan. 1.  The regulations would limit the locations where the permitted pot businesses can operate. While many have raised concern about the regulations, the city anticipates generating $50 million a year from selling pot permits. L.A. Now

Unclaimed Dead: About 250 people attended burial services in Boyle Heights for the cremated remains of 1,495 persons whose bodies were never claimed by relatives. L.A. Times
