The activists behind El Sereno’s Eastside Café; Sorry, but Adam Schiff is not interested in running for President

Eastside Cafe: There are no espressos at the Eastside Café in El Sereno. Instead, expect a strong sense of community, culture and activism inspired by a Mexican revolutionary movement. L.A. Magazine

Staying Put: Congressman Adam Schiff — whose district includes Atwater Village, Cypress Park, Echo Park, Los Feliz and Silver Lake — has attracted attention and many fans for challenging President Trump over national security and other issues. But is he thinking of running for President in 2020? “I certainly have not been thinking about it and am not running,” Schiff told L.A. Times political columnist George Skelton. “But I have to say, I’m surprised about how many people have been asking me about it.”

Staff Changes: Rachel Fox has joined the Council District 4 staff as the new Field Deputy serving constituents in Los Feliz and Silver Lake.  Fox can be reached at rachel.fox@lacity.org or by calling (213) 473-7004. She is part of several staff changes made by Councilman David Ryu. Council District 4
