The rain won’t stop the events going down on the Eastside this weekend — there’s something for everyone. If you are on a health kick, there’s a Sunday morning yoga-jog-beer run in Elysian Valley. If you’re feeling bold, dress up as your favorite singer, take a shot – or two – and hop on stage for the Eastside’s funniest lip sync battle in Echo Park.
Read on for our top 10 events and things-to-do this weekend:

Film – Watch the 2017 film, Victoria & Abdul, and enjoy some snacks with your neighbors at the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council’s free movie night in Monterey Hills.
SATURDAY, March 24

Comedy – End your weekend on a high note with Golden Hour Comedy, a weekly comedy showcase and cookout at Cafecito Organico in Frogtown. See performances by comedians from Comedy Central, Netflix, and Kimmel, and, as if that wasn’t enough, there will be free beer and hot dogs.

Performance – Invasion LA’s crew of dragtastic queens will take over Queer As Punk at Lot 1 in Echo Park. Watch performances by queens Xochi Mochi and Nikki Vicious or show up sporting some looks, take the mic and slay the crowd during Lip Rumble, Queer As Punk’s lip synch battle.
Learn – Are you an unfit plant parent? Learn the basics of house plant care at Plant Provocateur’s Houseplant Workshop in Silver Lake. The $50 workshop fee will include 2 plants, 1 pot and priceless knowledge on how not to kill your plants.
