Eye on Silver Lake

Silver Lake — What the heck was that? That’s what Sandy Driscoll thought when she spotted this giant replica of an eyeball staring out from a lawn on West Silver Lake Drive.

“I did an about turn, parked, grabbed my camera and got this shot,” said Sandy. “This was quite amazing……a Silver Lake eyeball!”

So, what’s a large eyeball doing on a Silver Lake lawn? Submit your ideas and comments below.

  1. Sandy’s great-nephew Bodhi (age 9) thinks it’s a prank. 🙂

  2. This definitely looks like the work of Skyler, the Silverlake artist who, along with girlfriend, Ramona, also made the awesome Spider Sculpture decorating their front lawn on Sanborn Ave (along with a newer heart structure they put up for Valentines).

  3. reminds me of the v. cool / intense Tony Tasset sculpture of an eye I’ve seen in Dallas:

  7. The Hummer update is wonderful. I think Sandy documented their lives so far very well. Keep the stories and pictures coming. Just such a loving story.
