SILVER LAKE -- The drone of helicopters filled the sky this afternoon above the Silver Lake Reservoir as water-dropping choppers pumped up water to drop on a brush fire in nearby Glendale. ECHO PARK - Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck two teen skateboarders Friday night as they crossed Alvarado Street, leaving one of the victims in extremely critical condition after being thrown or dragged 75 feet after the collision.
