Signs of confusion in Glassell Park

Some Glassell Park activists are upset that proposed neighborhood street banners will display the name of the auto dealership sponsoring the signs: “KIA Glendale.” It’s bad enough that the public banners will give credit and promote a private business in neighboring Glendale, they say. But what’s most irritating is the fact that KIA Glendale is actually in Glassell Park but won’t say so.

“I‘d say get another biz to advertise that doesn’t identify itself as Glendale,” said Mike Gealer in a post on Nelalist. “The whole premise of this banner is recognition of Glassell Park community
identity and pride.”
